Pocheon appointed attorney Ji Hyo-seop of law firm Taeha as a new legal counsel Wednesday, presenting the appointment certificate at the mayor's office.
The appointment runs for two years, from Nov. 1, 2026, through Oct. 31, 2028.
Ji will provide legal advice on city administration, review the legality of administrative actions and handle litigation in which Pocheon is a party.
Ji currently serves as the head attorney at the Ansan branch of law firm Taeha, and also sits on the Korea Football Association's dispute committee and serves as legal counsel for the Korea Professional Football Players Association.
With this appointment, Pocheon now has nine legal counsels on retainer. The city runs free legal consultations for residents every Monday through its counsel team, offering professional advice on everyday legal issues.
"As the administrative environment grows more complex, the importance of expert legal review is increasing," Pocheon Mayor Baek Young-hyun said. "I hope you will serve as a reliable partner, drawing on your extensive experience and expertise to ensure city affairs are carried out lawfully and fairly."
