Aekyung Industrial said Thursday it delivered 6,800 care packages worth 3.1 billion won ($2.31 million) to vulnerable residents at the "Love and Respect 2026 Hope Package Sharing Event," held at the Culture Tank in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

The event was organized in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Seoul Social Welfare Council and the Community Chest of Korea Seoul chapter. Attendees included Park Jin-woo, head of Aekyung Industrial's management support division; Park Chan-gu, political affairs deputy mayor of Seoul; Shin Hye-young, secretary general of the Community Chest of Korea Seoul chapter; and Cho Nam-beom, chairman of the Seoul Social Welfare Council.

Each package contained 26 types of daily necessities, including household goods and cosmetics. The packages will be delivered to the Seoul Itda Food Bank Center and then distributed to 6,800 households in underserved communities across Seoul's 25 autonomous districts. About 180 Aekyung Industrial employees took part in assembling the packages.

This year marks the 15th edition of the Hope Package Sharing Event. Aekyung Industrial said the initiative reflects the company's name and founding philosophy of "love (ae) and respect." The company has carried out social contribution activities for low-income and vulnerable residents in Seoul since 2012, and including this year's donation, has contributed a cumulative 65 billion won worth of goods.

"We hope that 15 years of Hope Package sharing will provide real, tangible help to neighbors in need," Park Jin-woo said. "Aekyung Industrial will continue to spread the value of giving and deliver warmth to our local communities."
