'Pocheon peace economy special zone a key task for laying city's future growth foundation'
Pocheon has adopted "Peace Economy — Pocheon Is Ready" as its promotional slogan and launched an open survey titled "Pocheon Peace Economy Special Zone Open Proposals" to raise public and business awareness of the city's push to secure designation as a peace economy special zone.
The slogan reflects the city's commitment to preparing for new possibilities in peace-driven economic development in anticipation of shifts in inter-Korean relations, while laying the groundwork for the region's long-term growth.
The accompanying open survey was designed to gather diverse opinions from residents and businesses during the designation process and to use that input in reviewing the direction of future project planning.
The survey will run from this month through August 2027, targeting Pocheon residents and business representatives. It covers four areas: awareness of the peace economy special zone initiative, Pocheon's strengths, expected benefits and concerns stemming from the designation, and the city's overall development direction.
Residents and business representatives who wish to participate may submit their views through an online survey link or QR code.
Yoo Kwon-sik, head of Pocheon's Advanced Defense Industry Division, said the peace economy special zone is "a key task for laying the foundation for Pocheon's future growth." Yoo added that the city would "listen carefully to the diverse opinions of residents and businesses and work to secure the designation by developing a peace economy special zone that draws on the region's strengths and potential."
