Company partners with local Mediz Group to standardize testing quality between the two countries
NKGen Biotech Korea is moving to expand its NK immune testing services in Thailand.
About 20 medical professionals from Mediz Group, a Thai cell therapy company, recently visited NKGen Biotech Korea for a conference on the technology and clinical applications of NK immune testing. The delegation comprised Thai medical staff working with Mediz's NK cell therapy program. During the visit, they toured the company's facility to review its manufacturing and quality control systems and received presentations on the principles behind NK cell activity testing, result interpretation and clinical use cases. NK immune testing is currently offered at numerous hospitals, clinics and major health screening centers in Thailand, and Mediz has been importing and using NKGen's NK cell activity testing kits.
The visit was organized as part of Mediz's push to expand the use and scale of the testing to partner hospitals and clinics across Thailand. A key agenda item at the conference was establishing an immune monitoring system linking NK cell therapy with activity testing.
The two companies also agreed to strengthen quality control to ensure the reliability and consistency of test results. They plan to jointly run an inter-laboratory proficiency testing program and will cooperate on local staff education and management systems to maintain the same standard of testing quality in Thailand as in South Korea.
"We expect this to serve as an opportunity to expand the use of NK immune testing to medical institutions in Thailand, building on our trusted relationship with Mediz Group," NKGen Biotech Korea said Friday.
