Eunpyeong New Town Library selected again for 'Arts For' planning project

Seoul's Eunpyeong-gu announced that the Eunpyeong New Town Library has been selected as a participating institution for the 2026 "Arts For" Planning Project, following its inclusion in the 2025 "Arts For" Collaboration Project.

The "Arts For" Planning Project is organized by the Korea Artists Welfare Foundation. The program brings together artists and participating institutions to enhance the social value of culture and the arts, with artists from diverse fields addressing each institution's themes from an artistic perspective.

The Eunpyeong New Town Library was selected for last year's collaboration project, during which six artists — including Kim Je-hyeong and Gu Su-hyeon — planned and ran the "Eoseureum Tour." The twilight tour program used imaginative storytelling to cast a fresh light on Jingwan-dong and Imalssan at dusk.

This year, the library will expand on the existing "Eoseureum Tour" under the theme of "originality," exploring overlooked chapters of Eunpyeong's history. The project will weave together writing, visual art, music and video to convey the historical significance of Eunpyeong in a multidimensional, multisensory way, tracing the narrative thread connecting Imalssan and the library.

Park Jong-beom, director of the Eunpyeong New Town Library, said he was pleased that the library would be able to present new cultural and artistic programming for a second consecutive year. "We will work to help local residents connect with their community through the library and feel pride in that community," he said.
