Former Apink member Hong Yu-kyung announces pregnancy, 3 years after marrying dermatologist

Hong Yu-kyung, a former member of K-pop group Apink, has announced she is pregnant.

Hong shared the news on her social media account Saturday, writing that "a beautiful baby has come to me" and that she had been eager to share the news for some time. She said she waited until reaching 16 weeks before making the announcement.

She added that the baby's nickname is "Dangdang," chosen to mean "grow up with confidence." "I am still a first-time mom-to-be who does not know anything yet, but please watch over me as I work hard to learn and become a wonderful mother," she said.

Hong also shared photos of a pregnancy test and an ultrasound.

Hong made her debut with Apink in 2011 but left the group in 2013 to focus on her studies. She married a dermatologist in 2023.
