Nowon-gu District Mayor Oh Seung-rok hosted the "2026 Buramsan Azalea Festival Food Truck Operator Donation Ceremony" at his office Monday morning at 10 a.m.
The donation was organized by the Korea Nuri Food Truck Association (led by President Jeong Deok-won) to return a share of festival proceeds to the local community. The association operated 17 food trucks across five locations — including the Buramsan Art Fore parking lot and the Healing Rest Area — for a total of 22 days, covering pre-festival weekend operations, the main Buramsan Azalea Festival period (April 16–26) and a post-festival run through Saturday, May 2.
The donated amount — 16,173,890 won (about $10,800), equivalent to 10 percent of the food trucks' total sales — will go in full to the Nowon Culture Foundation to support local arts and culture.
Six people attended the ceremony, including Nowon Culture Foundation director Lee Jong-hyeon, Korea Nuri Food Truck Association President Jeong Deok-won, Director Park Gi-seok and Vice President Kim Hong-yong.
"We are grateful to the food truck association for not only delighting festival-goers with great food, but also for this generous act of giving back," District Mayor Oh said. "The donation will be put to good use in further developing Nowon's cultural festivals."
