Hana Securities' 'Handon Investment Contract Securities No. 2' hits 350% subscription rate; No. 3 planned this month

Hana Securities announced Sunday that "Handon Investment Contract Securities No. 2," issued in collaboration with Datagen, recorded a final subscription rate of 350% — about 24% higher than the 282% posted by the No. 1 product.

About 41% of all subscribers were repeat investors who had previously participated in the No. 1 product. That product, launched in February, sold out its full allotment of 10,812 shares on the day of its offering and completed the sale of its underlying assets — worth 255.95 million won — along with investor profit-and-loss settlement within about 89 days.

The No. 2 product ran through the Findon platform for customers holding Hana Securities accounts from June 14 to June 27. The total offering size was approximately 212.8 million won (10,640 shares at 20,000 won per share), with the 500 head of domestic pork — the underlying asset — targeted for sale within three to six months after the rearing period ends.

Building on that reception, Hana Securities and Datagen plan to launch a public offering of "Handon Investment Contract Securities No. 3" this month.

Hana Securities will serve as the account management institution for the project, providing advisory and structuring support across the full product lifecycle — from structuring the investment contract securities and conducting the public offering to managing subscriptions and funds.

"The high repeat participation rate among No. 1 investors demonstrates the product's appeal and investors' trust in its transparent operation," said Cho Dae-heon, head of Hana Securities' AI Digital Strategy Division. "We will continue to strengthen institutional infrastructure and investor protection frameworks so the market can grow in a sound manner."

Handon investment contract securities are drawing attention as an early model for security token offerings (STOs). Hana Securities began reviewing the business viability of STOs in 2023 and has since established a dedicated unit and built an STO platform to position itself in the market.
