Air Premia new cabin crew volunteers for outing with elderly residents

South Korean hybrid carrier Air Premia said Monday it held an outing volunteer activity with elderly residents in the local community.

About 30 people — including new cabin crew trainees and sunbae crew members from the volunteer club Angel Premia — joined elderly visitors from the Gangseo Rehabilitation Specialized Day Care Center for a walk at Banghwa Neighborhood Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

The crew members helped the elderly move around the park, and the group shared games and refreshments together.

"Given the nature of the cabin crew role — providing service in the closest proximity to customers — we run a community service program as part of the new cabin crew training curriculum so trainees can directly experience the values of empathy and consideration," an Air Premia official said. The new cabin crew trainees who took part are set to begin flight duties in early June after completing their regular training, the official added.

Angel Premia is a volunteer club made up of Air Premia cabin crew members. The club carries out a range of community service activities, including environmental cleanup drives, stray animal protection and child welfare support.

Late last year, the airline expanded its corporate social responsibility efforts by directly hiring artists with disabilities to help them build a foundation for independent living and sustain their creative work.
