South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport unveiled a new slogan Sunday — "미래를 짓다 모두를 잇다 (Move for Tomorrow)" — pledging change and innovation in its role as the agency responsible for housing and mobility.
The slogan pairs two Korean verbs central to the ministry's work: "짓다," meaning to build spaces and infrastructure, and "잇다," meaning to connect people through transportation. The ministry said the pairing is meant to convey its identity in a clear and approachable way, reflecting its commitment to applying future technology to improve everyday living spaces and linking daily life more closely through transportation innovation.
The slogan will appear on the ministry's website, social media channels, promotional videos and materials for major events.
Minister Kim Yun-deok said the ministry oversees many cutting-edge industries — including land satellites, AI cities, self-driving cars and next-generation high-speed rail — but that only a handful of familiar issues had tended to draw public attention. "The new slogan is a firm promise to the public that we will carry out work across all areas in a future-oriented and creative way," she said.
To develop the slogan, the ministry gathered input through an internal staff competition and a consultative panel of outside public relations experts.
