Development projects in western Busan are gaining momentum as the city moves to build an integrated logistics network linking Busan New Port with the planned Gadeokdo New Airport.
Busan city officials recently held a kickoff briefing for a consulting project aimed at establishing an air logistics hub around the new airport, discussing plans for passenger and freight operations after it opens. The city plans to build a maritime-air combined logistics system linking Busan New Port and Gadeokdo New Airport in phased stages.
The consulting project will run through next year, focusing on an action plan that reflects demand from airlines, logistics companies and shippers. Officials plan to review airport operations, support facilities, transportation networks and logistics infrastructure to develop a logistics hub strategy.
Busan New Port and Gadeokdo New Airport are increasingly cited as the twin anchors of a future integrated port-airport logistics system. Industrial and residential development in western Busan is advancing in parallel.
Among the residential projects taking shape in the area, "Bugyeong Gyeongmawonnyeok Dietre the River" in Beombang-dong, Gangseo-gu, is being built within driving distance of Busan New Port, Noksan National Industrial Complex and an international logistics zone. The complex sits within reach of the Myeongji International New Town and Eco Delta City lifestyle districts, and is close to commercial amenities including Starfield City Myeongji and Lotte Premium Outlets' Gimhae location.
Built by Daebang Construction, "Bugyeong Gyeongmawonnyeok Dietre the River" is offered as a publicly supported private rental apartment complex. Lease terms run up to eight years, and applicants do not need a housing subscription account to apply.
Contracts require a deposit of approximately 9 million won (about $5,990), and the unit does not count toward a tenant's total housing holdings during the lease period.
Connectivity is expected to improve further once the planned Bugyeong Gyeongmawonnyeok Station opens as part of the Bujeon-Masan double-track rail line, easing access to central Busan and the South Gyeongsang Province region.
The complex is currently accepting additional tenants for remaining units. A model home is open in the Myeongji-dong area of Gangseo-gu, Busan.
