Busan opens BTS fan welcome center at Busan Station for 'BTS The City' project

Busan and the Busan Tourism Organization will operate the "BTS The City Arirang Busan Welcome Center" at Busan Eurasia Platform from June 5 to June 21, the city announced Monday.

The welcome center is designed as a hospitality and experiential tourism hub for fans and tourists visiting Busan, and is included as an official stamp-rally course in HYBE's "BTS The City" project. Regular operating hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., extended to 10 p.m. during a special period from June 10 through June 16.

The center will offer Busan tourism information and a luggage storage and delivery service through Jimcarry, operated at the same rates as the Busan Station store. The tourism desk will provide one-stop information on major attractions, transportation, restaurants, festivals and activity programs.

A range of experiential zones will also be available — a music experience zone featuring BTS audio and video content for dance, singing and listening programs; a K-beauty zone; a Photoism photo booth; a Busan tourism experience zone; and a Google Gemini AI experience booth.

From June 11 through June 14, Busan's official mascot "Bugi" will greet visitors at the welcome center. Linked events at major city gateways — including Busan Station plaza and Gimhae International Airport — will add to the welcoming atmosphere for visitors.

A 5-meter "K-POP Listener Bugi" sculpture photo zone will be installed at Busan Station plaza. On June 12 and 13, a Busan pop-up store will operate to promote local products and city policies, alongside street performances from the Busan International Dance Festival, intangible heritage creative performances and street shows by Busan artists. The second-floor busking plaza at Busan Station will host traditional Arirang-themed performances, including Miryang Baekjung Nori, Gamnae Rope Pulling and performances by the Miryang Arirang Arts Troupe.

From June 8 through June 14, the international arrivals hall on the first floor of Gimhae International Airport will host welcome events including a Busan tourism photo zone and a lucky-draw fortune bag event.

Kim Gyeong-deok, acting mayor of Busan, said the city would "continue to develop tourism content tied to major performances, festivals and international events to encourage visitors to stay longer, spend more and come back again."
