Ador cuts damages claim against Danielle, Min Hee-jin by 10 billion won

Ador has reduced by about 10 billion won the damages it is seeking in its lawsuit against former NewJeans member Danielle and Min Hee-jin, the label's former chief executive who now heads OK Records.

According to legal sources, Ador recently adjusted its claim against Danielle, one of her family members and Min from approximately 43.09 billion won to 33.09 billion won.

Ador said the revision came after new legal counsel reviewed the case and restructured the claims. "New representatives were appointed, reviewed the case, reorganized the claims and adjusted the amount accordingly," the company said.

Ador had replaced its legal counsel, switching from Kim & Chang to law firm Rihan ahead of the first hearing on May 14. The next hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

Ador had been locked in an exclusive contract dispute with the NewJeans members before winning a court ruling last October. The members did not appeal, making the ruling final. Ador then terminated its exclusive contract with Danielle alone in December, holding her and Min responsible for NewJeans' departure and the delayed return of the other members. The label subsequently filed a damages suit worth 43.1 billion won (approximately $28.2 million).

Haerin, Hyein and Hanni have since returned to Ador, while Minji is reportedly in talks over the specific terms of her return.
