Rain is expected across most of the country on Monday.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Sunday, rain will fall in the Greater Seoul area, the Chungcheong provinces and northern North Gyeongsang Province through early Tuesday morning. Gangwon Province, the southern coast of South Jeolla Province, the South Gyeongsang Province area and Jeju Island will see rain through the morning. Afternoon showers are forecast for inland mountain areas of Gangwon Province, northern North Chungcheong Province, the northeastern mountain areas and northern East Sea coast of North Gyeongsang Province, Ulsan, and the central and eastern inland areas of South Gyeongsang Province.
The rain is expected to ease the early summer heat, with temperatures forecast to stay near seasonal norms for now — lows of 14 to 18 degrees Celsius and highs of 22 to 28 degrees Celsius. Monday morning lows are forecast at 14 to 20 degrees, with afternoon highs of 20 to 27 degrees.
Easterly winds will push low clouds into mountain areas of Gangwon Province, bringing dense fog with visibility below 200 meters in some spots through the morning. In the central waters of the East Sea, winds of 30 to 45 kilometers per hour and waves of 1.5 to 2.5 meters are expected through the afternoon, and vessels navigating or fishing in the area should exercise caution.
