Independent business partners to be recruited as sales agents
Performance-based compensation, professional training support offered
Star Truck Korea, the official importer of Mercedes-Benz trucks in South Korea, announced Monday it will introduce a "sales agent" system to strengthen its sales competitiveness.
The company said it is launching the program to respond more quickly to regional customer demand and expand its sales reach. Star Truck Korea plans to use the initiative to consolidate its position in the imported tractor truck market while accelerating its push into the cargo and dump truck segments.
The company is recruiting candidates with sales experience not only in the commercial vehicle industry but also in construction equipment, special-purpose vehicles, industrial goods and B2B corporate sales.
Sales agents will operate as independent business partners under a performance-based compensation structure. Those selected will complete a mandatory curriculum — including Mercedes-Benz truck product training, financial programs, and compliance and safety courses — before beginning full-scale sales activities.
Star Truck Korea said it will maintain its existing direct sales organization while building a more flexible sales structure to respond swiftly to customer needs across different regions.
The company will also provide product training, marketing support, sales tools and a customer management system to help agents focus on their sales work. It will continue to support professional development through regular training sessions and market information updates.
"The sales agent system is not simply a headcount expansion — it is a new business model designed to let sales professionals with expertise and an entrepreneurial spirit demonstrate their capabilities," said Dong Geun-tae, CEO of Star Truck Korea. "We will secure top talent through a performance-based compensation structure, expand customer touchpoints, and strengthen our ability to serve customers in ways tailored to the characteristics of each region."
