Relocated and expanded 1 year and 5 months after opening
Up to 5 vehicles can be serviced simultaneously
Dedicated battery bay and large parts warehouse included
Linked with Pohang hub to form integrated Daegu-North Gyeongsang service belt
BYD Korea has relocated and expanded its Daegu service center, bolstering its electric vehicle after-sales service capabilities across the Yeongnam region.
The company announced Monday that it had reopened the BYD Auto Daegu Service Center at a new, larger location with upgraded maintenance facilities. The move comes roughly one year and five months after the center first opened as an early after-sales hub when BYD Korea launched its passenger vehicle division in January last year.
The Daegu center is one of the key locations BYD Korea established to secure customer access from the outset of its entry into the domestic market. GNB Mobility, BYD Korea's official dealer, expanded the center's scale and capabilities in anticipation of growing maintenance demand as BYD vehicle ownership spreads across the country.
The new facility covers a total floor area of approximately 971 square meters. The workshop features up to five work bays for simultaneous servicing, along with a dedicated battery maintenance space equipped to handle high-voltage batteries and other core electric vehicle components.
A customer reception area, service desk and large parts warehouse have been arranged along a single circulation path to improve maintenance efficiency. A second-floor mezzanine houses a customer lounge and office space, enhancing convenience for customers waiting during inspections and repairs.
The location was also chosen with accessibility in mind for customers across Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province. The center sits close to major road networks including the Daegu-Busan Expressway and the Gyeongbu Expressway, making it easy to reach for customers from inland North Gyeongsang areas such as Gyeongsan, Yeongcheon and Pohang, as well as those living along the East Sea coast.
BYD Korea plans to link the Daegu hub with the BYD Auto Pohang Service Center, which opened in April, to build an integrated after-sales service belt covering Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province. Under the arrangement, the Pohang hub will handle demand from the East Sea coastal corridor — including Pohang, Gyeongju, Yeongdeok and Uljin — while the Daegu hub covers inland areas and broader metropolitan maintenance needs.
"We pursued this expansion by building on the operational experience gained at the original location," a GNB Mobility official said. "We have created a space that goes beyond simple vehicle repairs — one that takes responsibility for customer safety and trust." The official added that all staff would work their hardest to establish the center as the leading service hub for Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, treating every vehicle as if it belonged to their own family.
Meanwhile, BYD Korea has set a target of securing a total of 26 service centers nationwide by the end of the year.
"The relocation and expansion of the Daegu service center is part of our ongoing effort to rapidly extend customer touchpoints and maintenance capabilities," a BYD Korea official said. "We will continue to pursue both quantitative and qualitative improvements to ensure customers anywhere in the country can rely on our service."
