Asia's first UCI MTB World Series cleaning partner; motorsport heritage extended to outdoor lifestyle market; new portable cordless washer launched for summer season
Kärcher Korea announced Monday it is targeting South Korea's outdoor and lifestyle market, drawing on more than 30 years of motorsport heritage.
The company served as the official cleaning partner of the 2026 WHOOP UCI MTB World Series — the first edition of the event held in Asia — which ran from May 1 to 3 at Balwangsan and Mona Yongpyong in Pyeongchang. Kärcher operated dedicated cleaning stations at key points around the course to support riders with equipment washing.
Two weeks later, the action shifted to Germany. From May 14 to 17, Kärcher officially sponsored the HWA EVO.R project at the Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race — a restoration of the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II that dominated the 1992 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. All three entered vehicles completed the full 24 hours, and two finished on the podium.
Kärcher's motorsport involvement stretches back to the 1992 DTM and has since encompassed the Toyota F1 team, the Ford Works WRC team and the Dakar Rally — more than three decades of proving its technology on the world's most demanding circuits. The company says washing tire dust off a race car and cleaning mud from a rider's mountain bike are fundamentally the same task.
A clear strategy underpins the back-to-back sponsorships. Cycling, camping, car camping and self-service car washing have grown rapidly in South Korea, making equipment cleaning and maintenance an integral part of outdoor hobbies.
Timed to the summer outdoor season, Kärcher Korea plans to launch the OC Handheld Compact, a portable cordless washer that runs on a battery and intake hose alone — no power outlet or water connection required. The product lets users clean bicycles, camping gear and vehicles on the spot, whether on a trail or at a campsite.
"Building on the heritage we have established in motorsport, we will expand collaboration with South Korea's sports and outdoor sectors and communicate the value of premium cleaning solutions," a Kärcher Korea official said.
