Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique appears ready to sanction a departure for Lee Kang-in this summer.
French outlet Le10Sport reported Sunday that PSG has chosen to enter the new season with largely the same squad as the 2025-26 campaign, but said the summer transfer window could bring significant changes, with several players potentially leaving the club — naming Lee among them.
"Lee Kang-in, who is under contract until June 2028, may have limited time left at PSG," the outlet said, adding that Atletico Madrid has expressed confidence in its ability to sign him.
Lee is understood to believe he needs a change of environment and more playing time to reach the next level, and has already communicated his desire to leave to PSG. Both sides are seeking a deal that works for them. Enrique is also understood to be receptive to the move. The outlet noted that the manager is reluctant to hold on to players who are unhappy or whose ambitions do not align with his own.
Lee joined PSG from Mallorca in 2023 and has appeared in 124 official matches for the club, contributing 16 goals and 16 assists. During that time he collected 11 trophies, including back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles and three consecutive Ligue 1 championships.
Yet with two years remaining on his contract, talk of a split is growing. Reports have repeatedly suggested Lee wants more playing time and could seek a move. Spanish outlet Marca said June 5 that PSG is aware of Lee's desire to play for Atletico and that there is optimism a deal could be struck at around 25 million euros (approximately $28.8 million).
Le10Sport echoed Marca's reporting, saying club leadership is confident a transfer in the region of 25 million euros can be completed. "Given his playing time at PSG, Lee Kang-in will agree to the move," the outlet said.
The outlet added that Enrique does not appear to factor Lee into his plans for big matches — a pattern the current season reinforced, as Lee did not start a single Champions League game. "Lee Kang-in's future will be written somewhere other than Paris," it concluded.
