Doosan expands broad partnership with Nvidia in physical AI, robotics

Doosan Group has agreed to pursue broad cooperation with Nvidia across physical AI, robotics and AI factory sectors. The partnership is expected to sharpen the competitiveness of Doosan's core businesses — energy, robotics and electronic materials — through Nvidia's AI platform.

Doosan announced Monday that it would expand cooperation with Nvidia across its core businesses, including energy, electronic materials and robotics. The push reflects the close alignment between Doosan's key operations — intelligent robotics, energy solutions and high-performance electronic materials — and the AI factory initiatives Nvidia is driving. The two companies plan to deepen the partnership with a core goal of connecting Doosan's products, technology and manufacturing capabilities to Nvidia's accelerated computing and physical AI platform.

Doosan Group Chairman Park Jung-won and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang held a private meeting at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on Sunday to discuss details of the collaboration. Huang threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Doosan Bears home game held at the stadium that day, while Park took part as the ceremonial batter.

"Doosan Group is continuously advancing the technologies needed for the AI era in energy, robotics and advanced materials, building on our long-accumulated manufacturing capabilities," Park said. "This partnership with Nvidia will be a great help as we look to apply AI across our business areas and explore new opportunities in the age of AI factories."

Huang said South Korea, as a world-class manufacturing hub, stands to benefit significantly from physical AI. "Physical AI will open new growth opportunities for companies that build the world, move it and supply its energy," he said. He added that by combining Nvidia's DSX — its AI factory design architecture — and physical AI with Doosan's energy, robotics and advanced materials businesses, Doosan Group would be able to secure new growth engines in core areas of the AI era, including intelligent robots, autonomous industrial equipment and next-generation infrastructure.

Through the partnership, Doosan's range of energy solutions — including Doosan Enerbility's gas turbines and small modular reactors, and Doosan Fuel Cell's hydrogen fuel cells — are expected to be integrated into Nvidia's DSX platform. The two companies plan to expand cooperation into power supply design for AI factory construction, optimization of power generation facilities and the pursuit of low-carbon energy sources.

Doosan Robotics is developing an agentic robot operating system using Nvidia's open libraries and other resources. Building on that work, the two sides are in discussions to jointly develop reference robot solutions capable of performing complex industrial tasks. The companies have agreed to focus their collaboration on enabling robots to independently and accurately perceive, assess and respond to their working environments.
