Samsung Asset Management on Tuesday listed the KODEX HyundaiMotorRoboticsValueChainTOP3Plus exchange-traded fund, which invests in core companies within Hyundai Motor Group's robotics value chain. The ETF focuses on stocks positioned as the biggest beneficiaries of the group's push into the physical AI market.
The fund concentrates investment in Hyundai Motor Group's robotics business growth as the robot industry expands rapidly. It allocates up to 75 percent or more of its assets across three stocks — Hyundai Motor, Kia and Hyundai Mobis — at roughly 25 percent each.
Hyundai Motor and Kia are advancing the commercial viability of robots by leveraging their global manufacturing infrastructure and mass production capabilities, while Hyundai Mobis brings core robotics component expertise in sensors and actuators. The fund also assigns a significant weighting to Hyundai Glovis, which holds stakes in Hyundai AutoEver and Boston Dynamics — two key robotics affiliates within the group.
The ETF is structured to allow special inclusion of newly listed stocks within Hyundai Motor's robotics value chain. It is also designed to accommodate Boston Dynamics at up to 25 percent upon its listing.
"When investing in the robotics industry, it is essential to distinguish companies that can generate real economic returns through actual mass production and commercial applications," said Song A-hyeon, a manager at Samsung Asset Management. "KODEX HyundaiMotorRoboticsValueChainTOP3Plus will serve as a solution for concentrated investment in the core value chain of Hyundai Motor Group, which has laid out a clear robotics roadmap and evolved into a global robotics company."
Samsung Asset Management has seen sharp growth in its KODEX ETF lineup, with total net assets recently surpassing 200 trillion won (approximately $129 billion). The KODEX lineup now comprises 236 ETFs and holds roughly 40 percent of the domestic ETF market. Of those, 37 have net assets exceeding 1 trillion won, and 10 have surpassed the 5 trillion won mark.
