Hyundai Department Store Group donates 1 billion won to families of fallen Air Force personnel

Hyundai Department Store Group held a Haneulsarang Scholarship Foundation donation ceremony with the Republic of Korea Air Force on Monday at Mugunghwa Hall of Air Force Headquarters in Gyeryong, South Chungcheong Province, the company announced Tuesday.

The group plans to contribute a total of 1 billion won ($647,000) in scholarship funds to the Air Force over 10 years through 2035. The funds will support scholarships and living expenses for the families of Air Force personnel killed in the line of duty.

"It is deeply meaningful to be able to extend support to the families of Air Force personnel, following those of firefighters, police officers and Army soldiers who died in service to the safety of the nation and its people," said Park Hong-jin, president of Hyundai GreenFood.
