Company signs MOU with Polaris AI for project demonstration
MDS Tech, co-led by CEOs Lee Chang-yeol and Lee Jeong-seung, is expanding its physical AI capabilities into real-world manufacturing sites.
The company said Monday it signed an MOU with Polaris AI, headed by CEO Yoon Jeong-hee, to cooperate on AI robot and physical AI-based project demonstration.
Under the agreement, MDS Tech will apply physical AI capabilities built up during the research phase directly to manufacturing sites. The company plans to expand its foundation from AI infrastructure supply through on-site demonstration and commercialization.
Polaris AI will provide its UB Tech robot platform along with robot control and operating technology, while MDS Tech will supply a sensing-camera-module-based test environment for manufacturing and logistics sites, as well as factory setup infrastructure. The two companies plan to advance robot learning and operating environments and validate automation models suited for industrial settings.
MDS Tech will build an AI robot demonstration environment drawing on its accumulated AI and embedded technology capabilities and manufacturing site infrastructure. The company will also leverage Nvidia-based AI platforms and edge AI solutions to support customers in adopting physical AI.
"We are expanding the physical AI ecosystem that connects AI software with industrial sites," an MDS Tech official said. "We plan to help our customers adopt AI robot and edge AI technology more quickly."
MDS Tech is an Nvidia partner in South Korea, supplying NVIDIA DGX, Jetson, RTX and data center GPUs. The company has recently been expanding its AI infrastructure business into generative AI, edge AI, digital twins and robotics.
