Fund concentrates investment in key affiliates including Hyundai Motor and Kia
Samsung Asset Management listed the KODEX HyundaiMotorRoboticsValueChainTOP3Plus exchange-traded fund Monday, targeting core companies in Hyundai Motor Group's robotics value chain. The ETF focuses on stocks positioned as the biggest beneficiaries of the group's push into the physical AI market.
The fund is designed to capitalize on Hyundai Motor Group's robotics business growth amid the rapid expansion of the robot industry. It concentrates up to 75 percent or more of its holdings across three stocks — Hyundai Motor, Kia and Hyundai Mobis — allocating up to 25 percent to each.
Hyundai Motor and Kia are advancing the commercial viability of robots by leveraging their global manufacturing infrastructure and mass production capabilities, while Hyundai Mobis brings core robotics component expertise in sensors and actuators. The fund also assigns a significant weighting to Hyundai Glovis, which holds stakes in two key robotics affiliates within the group — Hyundai AutoEver and Boston Dynamics.
The ETF is structured to allow special inclusion of newly listed stocks within the Hyundai Motor robotics value chain. It can also accommodate Boston Dynamics at up to a 25 percent weighting upon its listing.
Samsung Asset Management has seen sharp growth in its KODEX ETF lineup, with total net assets recently surpassing 200 trillion won (about $129 billion). The KODEX platform now spans 236 ETFs and holds roughly 40 percent of the domestic ETF market. Of those, 37 products have crossed the 1 trillion won net asset threshold, and 10 have surpassed 5 trillion won.
