Open lounge, shared hall and counseling rooms established on second floor of temporary building at old Noryangjin district office — open to all youth
Dongjak-gu has opened the Dongjak Youth Center, a dedicated multipurpose space designed to support young residents' rest, self-development and social interaction, with full operations beginning June 4.
The center occupies the second floor of a temporary building at the old Dongjak-gu office in Noryangjin (161 Jangseungbaegi-ro), covering a total floor area of 195 square meters. Any young person between the ages of 19 and 39 who lives or is active in Dongjak-gu may use the facility free of charge.
The interior is organized into four areas: an open lounge for music, reading and tea; a shared hall for reading and laptop work; a counseling room for youth policy consultations and job-placement services; and two multipurpose rooms for youth gatherings and education programs.
The district plans to develop the center into more than just a shared space, positioning it as a platform that connects youth policy with a range of support programs.
To that end, the center will run employment and startup programs in partnership with the Noryangjin Youth Job Center, along with mentoring sessions with working professionals and one-day classes aimed at strengthening young people's career readiness.
In addition, the center will offer a space-rental service to encourage self-organized youth gatherings and networking, and will work to foster an active community.
