Company sets highest-ever new-order goal on 66th anniversary, sharpens focus on selective bidding and profitability
Doosan Construction is marking its 66th anniversary this year with an ambitious push for 6 trillion won (approximately $3.93 billion) in new orders — the highest target in the company's history. The builder plans to sustain a steady order pipeline through data-driven selective bidding and rigorous project feasibility reviews. In the second half of the year, the company intends to pursue major contract wins while deepening its commitment to the We've residential brand, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Doosan Construction has been named contractor for four redevelopment projects in Seoul alone this year, according to industry sources. The company secured large-scale redevelopment contracts worth 733.4 billion won ($481 million) in key regional markets, leveraging the brand equity and product planning capabilities built through its We've and We've The Zenith residential lines to expand its project pipeline.
Doosan Construction is diversifying its portfolio across private and public sectors while working to strengthen stability across different project types. Its track record spanning private redevelopment, infrastructure and public redevelopment projects has become a key competitive advantage. The data-driven approach to selective bidding is also paying off in pre-sales: by evaluating location, marketability and pre-sale viability from the earliest stages, the company has completed pre-sales at projects across major regions including Greater Seoul, the Gyeongsang provinces and the Chungcheong provinces.
In the first quarter of this year, Doosan Construction posted consolidated sales of 359.4 billion won ($235 million), operating profit of 29.9 billion won ($19.6 million) and net profit for the period of 22 billion won ($14.4 million). Operating profit rose roughly 3.6 times from the same period a year earlier. "The improvement in profitability appears to reflect data-driven selective bidding, pre-sale results, cost improvements at ongoing project sites and greater operational efficiency," a company official said.
The company is also expanding sports marketing activities to strengthen its brand. The We've golf team has helped the brand connect directly with residents, hosting one-point golf lessons and fan signing events for We've residents, as well as running distinctive marketing campaigns such as audio advertisements on the Sinbundang Line. The Zenith Gallery, meanwhile, showcases works by prominent Korean and international artists.
