Pizza Hut Korea unveiled a new logo Tuesday, reflecting the brand's philosophy of delivering moments of joy to consumers in everyday life.
Through the change, Pizza Hut plans to broaden its reach across age groups — particularly younger generations — and build greater familiarity and affinity with the brand.
To ease the burden on franchisees during the rebranding process, the company will cover 50 percent of renewal fees for the 78 stores up for contract renewal this year. The remaining 50 percent paid by store owners will be fully returned as a credit toward signage replacement costs. Any amount exceeding that will also be covered by the company.
In his first CEO letter since officially taking office June 1, CEO Kim Jong-un said, "What matters most to our franchise partners is ultimately store growth and profitability, so I will communicate on a monthly basis focusing on store sales figures."
Pizza Hut's May sales rose 40 percent year-on-year, driven by new product launches. Building on strong demand for the Cheese Festa lineup introduced in March, the chain achieved 40 percent same-store sales growth in May.
