Cho Guk Renovation Party's Shin visits Roh Moo-hyun's grave, vows to uphold former president's spirit

Shin Jang-sik, acting leader of the Cho Guk Renovation Party, visited the grave of late former President Roh Moo-hyun on Tuesday.

Shin made the visit to Roh's grave in Jinyeong-eup, Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province, alongside the party's candidates who ran in the June 3 local elections in Busan, Ulsan and South Gyeongsang Province.

"We came to reflect on the spirit of Roh Moo-hyun," Shin said. "We came to reaffirm, as candidates who lost, the heart of former President Roh — who never blamed the people, who challenged on regardless of circumstances, and who looked after ordinary citizens."

"We all became a river and arrived here together," he said. He added that the current people's sovereignty government could not have come into being without the lineage of Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun and Moon Jae-in.

He said the party would "resolutely confront any attempt to undermine those values and that spirit," and pledged to demonstrate the Cho Guk Renovation Party's worth to the public by carrying that legacy forward — toward the success of the Lee Jae Myung government and the establishment of a fifth democratic reform administration.
