Only Korean product to record 100% malware detection rate
Meets VB100 standards for real-world threat blocking and false positives
AhnLab's endpoint security solution V3 has earned an A+ rating — the highest available — from global security evaluation body Virus Bulletin.
AhnLab said Thursday that V3 participated in Virus Bulletin's June VB100 certification assessment and recorded a 100% malware detection rate, the only South Korean security product to do so, earning the top A+ certification.
VB100 is a globally recognized security certification that evaluates the ability of Windows-based endpoint security products to respond to malware circulating in real-world environments. Major security firms worldwide participate in it regularly, and it is considered a key benchmark for a product's core detection capability and stability.
AhnLab said V3 was the only product among major domestic security companies to achieve a 100% malware detection rate in the assessment. It also met the certification's false-positive criteria, securing the top A+ grade. The company said the result demonstrates best-in-class detection accuracy and stability in the global market.
AhnLab added that V3 detected every piece of malware in the verification dataset — compiled from threats actively circulating in the wild — without a single miss, and also satisfied the false-positive standards applied to legitimate files.
Yang Ha-young, head of AhnLab's ASEC division, said the perfect-score certification validates the product's fundamental security capabilities — accurately detecting malware spreading in real environments while meeting false-positive standards for normal files. "We will continue to advance our global-level threat response technology and AI-based analysis capabilities to deliver a reliable security framework across diverse environments," Yang said.
Meanwhile, AhnLab said V3 has also performed well in other major global security evaluations, further demonstrating its competitiveness. Notable results include being named a top product by Germany's AV-TEST Institute in February, and achieving a 100% blocking rate in the Protections category at the MITRE ATT&CK Evaluations Enterprise round 7 last year.
