Lee Ju-hee, first-generation influencer and fashion entrepreneur, dies at 43

Lee Ju-hee, chief executive of fashion brand Arv Collection and widely regarded as a first-generation influencer in South Korea, has died suddenly.

A death notice posted Thursday on Lee's official social media account announced that she had "suddenly left us on Thursday."

"We are in deep grief and still cannot believe this," her family said in the statement. They had originally intended to share the news only after all arrangements were complete, but decided to come forward sooner given the large number of people reaching out with concern.

The family also thanked those who had supported Lee. "We sincerely thank everyone who showed her such warm attention and love," they said, asking that people join in remembrance and wish her peace.

A photo released alongside the announcement showed Lee smiling in a portrait.

Lee built her name as a pioneer of South Korea's early online content scene, earning recognition as one of the country's first-generation influencers. She later channeled her distinctive sense of style into launching Arv Collection, establishing herself as a successful entrepreneur in the fashion industry.
