Daedong AI Lab links public, private agricultural AI agents

Public and private agricultural AI agents are set to be linked, with both sides expecting the move to boost the reliability and practical use of agricultural AI services.

Daedong AI Lab, the AI subsidiary of Daedong, said Thursday it signed an MOU with the Rural Development Administration on connecting their respective agricultural AI agents.

The agreement links the administration's agricultural AI "AI Isak-i" with Daedong's AI farming assistant "AI Daedong-i." The two sides plan to connect public agricultural technology data with private field farming data, making it easier for farmers to access accurate AI-powered farming services. Both parties expect the combination of the administration's verified agricultural knowledge and Daedong's customer-facing field data to raise the reliability and usability of agricultural AI services.

By integrating AI Isak-i's technical information into AI Daedong-i, users who ask the assistant farming-related questions will receive both Daedong's field-based service responses and the administration's verified data. Key question statistics and customer feedback collected through AI Daedong-i will also be shared with the Rural Development Administration to continuously improve service quality.

The partnership is expected to serve as a starting point for building an agricultural AI ecosystem that connects public and private AI systems. The two sides also said they plan to establish an open agricultural AI agent architecture that allows farmers to access the information they need in one place and apply it to farming decisions.

"We will combine the public sector's highly reliable information with our own field data to deliver customized AI farming services for farmers," said Choi Jun-gi, chief executive of Daedong AI Lab.

Lee Sang-ho, planning and coordination officer at the Rural Development Administration, said the agency would "organically combine public and private agricultural AI services to create an environment where all farmers can effectively use AI technology."
