Campaign aims to shift consumer attitudes toward flexible vehicle use over ownership
SK Rent-a-Car announced Friday it will launch its "Just One Car" online viral campaign Saturday, rolling out the main video through its official YouTube channel and Instagram to challenge the conventional notion that cars must be purchased rather than rented.
The company said the campaign translates the everyday inconveniences of not having a car — and the life changes that come with having one — into content that a wide audience can easily relate to. Targeting men and women in their 30s who either lack a vehicle or need a second one, the campaign aims to drive organic sharing through relatable content and an addictive soundtrack.
"As rising vehicle prices, insurance premiums and maintenance costs make car ownership increasingly burdensome, consumers are shifting their focus from owning to using," an SK Rent-a-Car official said. "In line with this trend, we designed the campaign around the message 'All I'd ever want is just one car' to spread awareness of rental as a new and smart alternative."
The official added that the company will continue to offer flexible products and services tailored to the evolving mobility lifestyles of its customers.
SK Rent-a-Car said it also intends to actively promote the idea that rental cars are not merely a travel convenience but a smart, everyday mobility option suited to each person's lifestyle.
Alongside the campaign, SK Rent-a-Car is running a prize giveaway worth 10 million won ($6,470) in total, including a one-month mid-size SUV rental pass for three winners and a 24-hour free short-term rental voucher for 10 winners.
