Gwangjin Future Technology Experience Center Spotlighted on Popular YouTube Channel

The Gwangjin Future Technology Experience Center, located at 402 Achasan-ro and operated by Gwangjin-gu, is drawing fresh attention after being featured on the popular YouTube channel "Munguajeok Gisulju-ui," a humanities-meets-technology series that introduced the center as a welcoming space for the public to engage with advanced technology.

"Munguajeok Gisulju-ui" is a YouTube series produced by Hyundai Mobis that explains emerging technologies through a humanities perspective and accessible language. The channel visited the center while covering the present and future of robotics.

The center was established to help Gwangjin-gu residents directly experience and build skills in key future technologies — including AI, virtual and augmented reality, and drones — in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Within six months of opening, it has welcomed more than 15,000 visitors, cementing its reputation as an educational destination. It offers hands-on programs for all ages, from youth talent-development courses to experiences designed for adults and families.

The featured video explored the question "When will robots smarter than humans emerge?" and included commentary from robotics hardware and AI experts on the cutting edge of the field. Participants tried controlling a robotic arm that demonstrates the principles behind advanced technology, experienced an autonomous driving system firsthand, and showcased the range of programs available at the center.

The video also highlighted a "Speed Challenge" — a timed competition to complete a color-block assembly — that lets visitors compare human and robot spatial recognition and assembly speed. By framing robotics in an everyday, accessible way, the content has resonated with viewers looking for engaging science education.

"Through this collaboration with the 'Munguajeok Gisulju-ui' channel, we want to show people that future technology is not something distant or difficult — it is an exciting force already changing our daily lives," Gwangjin-gu District Mayor Kim Gyeong-ho said. "We will continue to do our best to reach more residents through diverse and enriching programs."

To mark the summer school break, the center will run a special lecture series for local elementary school students from July 28 to Aug. 14. The program consists of three workshops: creating Minecraft characters with a 3D pen, building a personal game using basic vibe coding, and an introductory design and image-editing course.
