Beolmal, Gogaetmaru children's parks and Uiidong Mannam Plaza to operate from July 4 through Aug. 23
Seoul's Gangbuk-gu district is opening its outdoor water play facilities for the summer season, giving families a safe and refreshing option close to home, district Mayor Lee Soon-hee announced.
The district will operate water play areas at three locations — Beolmal Children's Park, Gogaetmaru Children's Park and Uiidong Mannam Plaza — from July 4 through Aug. 23.
Gogaetmaru Children's Park and Uiidong Mannam Plaza were renovated last year and will host water play areas for the first time this summer, offering local children a new place to cool off without traveling far.
The facilities will be closed every Monday. On weekdays, they will run three sessions from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; on weekends and public holidays, five sessions will run from noon to 5 p.m. Each session lasts 50 minutes, followed by a 10-minute break.
Alongside this, ground fountains and stream facilities at eight locations — Suyuil Children's Park, Saekdong Children's Park, Mia 9-1 Children's Park, Samyang Village Yard, Mia Zone 8, Solbat Neighborhood Park, Beolmal Children's Park and Huimang Children's Park — will operate through Sept. 30. Each site will run 30-minute sessions at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. daily, with 30-minute breaks in between.
The water play facility at Buk Seoul Dream Forest will also operate on weekends and public holidays through Aug. 30, as in previous years. It will run three sessions daily at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., with each session lasting 40 minutes followed by a 20-minute break.
The district plans to conduct regular safety inspections and maintain strict hygiene standards at all facilities. Operations will be temporarily suspended during rain or scheduled maintenance to ensure visitor safety.
