Inha University Hospital marks 5,000th robotic surgery with symposium

Inha University Hospital has concluded the "2026 6th Inha University Hospital Robotic Surgery Center Symposium," held to mark the center's 5,000th robotic surgery.

The symposium, held Friday, was organized to share the latest robotic surgery platforms and diverse clinical experiences, and to explore the future direction of robotic surgery.

The event featured next-generation robotic surgery technologies, including gastric cancer and endocrine surgeries using the da Vinci DV5 system and pulmonary lesion diagnosis via robotic bronchoscopy. Clinical experiences from the urology, obstetrics and gynecology, and surgery departments were also shared.

Founded in 2018, the Inha University Hospital Robotic Surgery Center is now Incheon's largest robotic surgery center, with 28 specialists across six departments operating three da Vinci robotic surgery systems.

In April, the center became the first in Incheon to introduce the Ion robotic bronchoscopy system, continuing its expansion of advanced robotic medical technology.

"Building on the milestone of 5,000 procedures, we will strengthen the introduction of advanced platforms and multidisciplinary collaboration to provide patients with safer and more precise robotic surgery," said Kim Gyeong-deok, director of the Robotic Surgery Center.
