Guro-gu Hosts 'Warm Bowl of Bone Broth' Sharing Event for Vulnerable Residents

Guro-gu held a "Warm Bowl of Bone Broth" donation ceremony Monday at the Renaissance Hall of the district office, in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Nurses Association.

The Seoul Metropolitan Nurses Association, which has maintained a steady tradition of charitable giving for vulnerable residents in the district, sponsored the event. District Mayor Jang In-hong and Park Jeong-seon, president of the association, were among those in attendance.

The donated items consist of 120 boxes of bone broth meal kits, each weighing 2.5 kilograms. The kits will be distributed through the Guro-gu Volunteer Center to 120 residents in need — including elderly people living alone and low-income households — who are particularly susceptible to fatigue during the summer heat.

"I am sincerely grateful to the Seoul Metropolitan Nurses Association for practicing warm-hearted generosity for their neighbors every year, even in difficult times," District Mayor Jang said. "We will do our utmost to deliver this heartfelt contribution to marginalized residents who need care, and to build a tight-knit welfare safety net."

The Seoul Metropolitan Nurses Association has donated rice, kimchi, meal kits and other goods annually since 2023. The initiative is driven primarily by nurses who serve as a pillar of local public health care, and the association uses its regular giving activities to spread a positive influence throughout the community.
