Korean man arrested for following Chinese tourist in Hongdae, exposing himself

A Korean man has been arrested for following a Chinese tourist through streets near Hongdae in Seoul and exposing himself to her.

Seoul's Mapo Police Station arrested the man, identified only as A, a man in his 30s, on June 23 on charges of public indecency and violating the Stalking Punishment Act.

A is accused of following a Chinese female tourist to her accommodation and committing indecent acts.

The tourist filed a report saying she had encountered the same man on two consecutive days and that he had followed her to the entrance of her lodging. Officers who responded to the call searched the area and arrested A on the spot.

During police questioning, A reportedly told investigators that he had followed people he found attractive and sexually appealing.

A had previously been punished on public indecency charges as well.
