TYM receives Ukrainian government award for four years of agricultural support

TYM, a global agricultural machinery company, has received an official award from the Ukrainian government for its support of postwar recovery and agricultural infrastructure reconstruction. The company was recognized for four years of donations — including tractors and loaders — to help rebuild the farming base in war-damaged areas.

TYM announced Wednesday that it received the Amber Heart Award, presented by Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Ukrainian Embassy in Seoul on Monday. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, who was visiting South Korea at the time, attended the ceremony and personally presented the award to TYM.

The Amber Heart Award is symbolized by a piece of amber estimated to be 50 million years old, discovered in Ukraine's Bucha region during the Russian occupation. The award embodies resilience, international solidarity and gratitude, and has been presented to foreign individuals and organizations that have contributed to Ukraine's recovery. TYM is the first South Korean company to receive the honor.

TYM has provided humanitarian support since the early days of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The company began with a cash donation of 100 million won ($64,300) in March 2022, followed by 10 tractors in October of that year. In May 2023, it sent 12 tractors and 12 loaders, and in November 2024, it dispatched 20 tractors and 20 loaders. An additional nine tractors were provided in 2025. The cumulative value of support now exceeds 1.5 billion won.

The donated machinery is being used for agricultural reconstruction and infrastructure recovery in areas that suffered heavy war damage, including Sumy Oblast in northeastern Ukraine near the Russian border. Unlike basic relief supplies, agricultural equipment directly enables local residents to resume farming and achieve self-sufficiency, making it particularly well-suited to postwar recovery needs.

The award marks the first time a South Korean agricultural machinery company's overseas humanitarian efforts have earned formal recognition from the Ukrainian government. TYM said it plans to continue contributing to the restoration of local food production through machinery supply, as part of its global ESG management and international social contribution work.

"We have continued our humanitarian support in the hope that Ukraine will restore normalcy as soon as possible," TYM Chairman Kim Hee-yong said. "We will keep standing by those who need our help."
