Banksalad begins development of medical and health MyData service

Banksalad announced Wednesday it has been selected for the "MyData Service Support Project," a program run by the Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency.

The fintech company will now develop a public-facing medical MyData service drawing on personal health and medical data.

Until now, individuals have had limited ability to track or prevent illness because their health and medical records are scattered across multiple medical institutions, making them difficult to access or manage in one place.

Banksalad plans to address this by reorganizing statistical disease-incidence data and medical MyData around specific conditions to help customers manage their health. The service will feature a health risk factor dashboard, health risk analysis, tracking of changes in test results, and a personalized prevention and management guide — displaying health indicators such as fasting blood glucose levels.

The company has been accelerating its push to build an integrated financial and health data infrastructure since launching MyData 2.0 last year.

"We will integrate scattered health and medical data to create an environment where customers can assess their own health priorities and manage them independently," a Banksalad official said.
