Center supports service development and verification using everyday language
Latest AI technology to be applied rapidly throughout the development process
KB Kookmin Bank announced Wednesday the launch of its "KB AI Dev (Development) Center," a dedicated facility aimed at transforming how the bank develops financial services using artificial intelligence.
The KB AI Dev Center was established to build a new development environment in which AI participates in every stage of the process — from service planning and development through to testing.
Under the previous model, developers handled design and coding directly. Going forward, users will be able to describe desired functions in everyday language, and AI will analyze those descriptions to support design, development and verification. The bank expects this to enable faster and more efficient development of financial services.
The center provides an integrated development framework covering the entire development process through a research-and-development network. It supports AI-driven code generation and prototyping, real-time AI verification of security issues and errors, and technology application testing and suitability assessment.
The center is also designed to serve as a forward base for rapidly applying the latest external AI technologies to financial service development. Kookmin Bank said it plans to significantly shorten development timelines by introducing a fast-track system that directly links global AI code agent solutions — including Claude Code — to its working development processes.
Bank President Lee Hwan-ju, who has a keen interest in AI, attended the launch ceremony in person on Tuesday, received briefings on future center operations and encouraged staff.
"We will further strengthen our AI development capabilities by combining technological innovation with trust and stability — the core values of finance," a Kookmin Bank official said. "We will continue to leverage global AI technology to deliver convenient and differentiated financial services to our customers."
