Yeungjin University, Ulsan pet center sign AI-focused curriculum partnership

Yeungjin University College signed an AI- and digital-integrated customized education innovation agreement with the Ulsan City Pet Center (Anion Park) on July 1.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate across several areas: jointly developing AI- and digital-transformation-based curricula and teaching materials that reflect industry demand; running a combined industry-academia semester program with AI and digital job-convergence training and project-based learning; providing students with on-site internships alongside co-teaching and mentoring by industry experts; offering AI job-transition education for current workers and local residents; and sharing AI education infrastructure and advanced equipment.

The partnership will particularly focus on incorporating the practical needs of the companion animal industry into the curriculum, training specialists with data-driven work skills and digital competencies powered by AI. Students will also gain expanded access to field-centered, hands-on training.

"Through this agreement, we will expand AI-based customized education in the companion animal industry, develop practice-ready talent that meets industry requirements, and grow into a leading department in AI transformation within the animal health field," said Bae Dong-hwa, head of the Animal Health Department.

Seong Gi-chang, director of the Ulsan City Pet Center, said he hoped the jointly operated curriculum — built around real industry needs — would help secure AI-proficient talent and strengthen the competitiveness of the companion animal industry.
