Kim Ju-hyung sits tied 19th at John Deere Classic after round 2

Kim Ju-hyung reached the halfway mark tied for 19th at the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic, which carries an $8.8 million purse.

Playing Friday at TPC Deere Run (par 71) in Silvis, Illinois, Kim carded five birdies and two bogeys for a 3-under 68 in the second round.

His two-round total of 7-under 135 leaves him one stroke behind the group tied for 11th and three strokes off the group tied for fourth.

Kim opened his round with a birdie on the par-5 10th, then dropped a shot with a bogey on the par-4 11th. He bounced back with a 5.2-meter birdie putt on the par-4 13th and added another birdie on the par-4 14th. A further birdie on the par-5 17th moved him as high as tied for fourth, and he turned for the back nine having picked up three strokes on the front.

On the back nine, Kim reached the par-5 2nd in two and two-putted for birdie, briefly moving to tied for second. He could not add to his total from there, however, and closed the round on a sour note with a three-putt bogey on the par-4 5th.

Fellow Korean Im Sung-jae posted a 2-under 69 — five birdies against three bogeys — to sit tied for 37th at 5-under 137. Noh Seung-yul shot 1-over 72 and missed the cut at 4-over 146.

Lucas Glover of the United States, who shared the first-round lead, continued his bogey-free play with six birdies for a 6-under 65, moving to 14-under 128 and sole possession of first place.

Lee Hodges (United States) is second at 12-under 130, while Jack Blair (United States), who co-led after round one with Glover, is third at 11-under 131. Defending champion Brian Campbell (United States) missed the cut after finishing at even-par 142.

Meanwhile, play was suspended due to severe weather with six players each having one hole remaining in their rounds.
