Daegu Mayor Choo Kyung-ho congratulates 10th Daegu City Council at opening ceremony

Daegu Mayor Choo Kyung-ho attended the 326th extraordinary session of the Daegu City Council on Monday to mark the launch of the 10th Daegu City Council.

Before the opening ceremony, Choo visited the newly elected first half-term leadership of the council to offer his congratulations in person — Speaker Lim In-hwan, First Vice Speaker Lee Tae-son and Second Vice Speaker Kim Jae-yong.

At the ceremony that followed, Choo joined senior city officials to celebrate the council's start and called on the ninth directly elected Daegu city administration and the 10th Daegu City Council to work together to bring "change, growth and a better tomorrow" to the city.

"I sincerely congratulate the opening of the 10th Daegu City Council," Choo said in his address. "I consider it an immense honor to lead the ninth directly elected city administration alongside lawmakers who speak for the citizens."

"When the council and the executive branch cooperate through mutual checks and balance, the change and growth that citizens can feel will begin," he added. "I will work with the city council to make Daegu's 'change, growth and a better tomorrow' a reality."
