Yeongdeungpo-gu (district mayor Cho Yu-jin) will host an "EBS Star Lecturer College-Prep Camp" for 10th and 11th graders enrolled in or residing in the district, offering structured study strategies and the latest university admissions information.
The camp was designed to strengthen public-education-centered admissions support by bringing in leading EBS instructors and to ease the burden of private tutoring costs by providing high-quality lectures free of charge.
The two-day camp runs Aug. 7–8 at the Youth Future Career Center (200 Yeongshin-ro). Students in grades 10 and 11 who live in Yeongdeungpo-gu or attend a high school in the district are eligible.
The program centers on two main components: subject-specific study strategy lectures by top EBS instructors, and personalized college-admissions mentoring led by admissions strategy experts and university student mentors.
The study strategy sessions will cover Korean, English and mathematics — the three core subjects on the College Scholastic Ability Test. Yun Hye-jeong, known for her "Butterfly Effect" Korean-language course, will lead the Korean session; Jeong Seung-ik will handle English; and Shim Ju-seok will cover mathematics. Each instructor will share self-directed learning strategies for tackling both school-based assessments and the CSAT.
The admissions mentoring session will feature Yun Yun-gu, EBS's lead admissions strategy instructor and an education policy adviser to the Ministry of Education. He will outline subject-selection strategies under the high school credit system and explain how to design curriculum-linked research activities, giving students the practical information they need to map out their own college-prep roadmap based on their career goals and aptitudes.
A separate mentoring session — billed as a "sure-fire formula for college entrance" — will feature current students from medical schools and SKY universities sharing their personal study methods, admissions preparation experiences and campus life tips.
Registration will first accept 50 students on a first-come, first-served basis for the full two-day program, with priority given to students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. An additional 100 spots per subject will be open for individual lecture sessions, bringing total capacity to 150 per subject.
