Seoul's Gangseo-gu has opened registration for the 4th Gangseo Heo Jun Run, set for Oct. 10.
Since its debut in 2023, the Heo Jun Run has drawn more than 2,000 participants each year, establishing itself as one of Gangseo-gu's signature sporting events. This year's fourth edition features a specially designed course taking runners through the scenic grounds of Seoul Botanic Park and along the Han River.
The race offers three distance options: a 10-kilometer course for those aiming to push their limits, a 5-kilometer course for a more casual run, and a 3-kilometer family run for participants of all ages.
Registered runners will receive a commemorative T-shirt designed for everyday wear, a finisher's medal — a perennial crowd favorite — and a variety of snacks. Participants can also extend the day at the Heo Jun Festival (Oct. 10–11), one of the district's flagship cultural events, which follows immediately after the race.
Registration is available through the official Heo Jun Run website on a first-come, first-served basis and may close early if spots fill up.
Entry fees are 50,000 won ($32) for the 10-kilometer course, 45,000 won for the 5-kilometer course, and 30,000 won for the 3-kilometer family run.
"We are preparing the event with participant safety as our top priority," Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon said. "We hope this Heo Jun Run goes beyond a simple marathon and becomes a running festival where families, couples and friends can create happy memories together."
