Seongbuk-gu in Seoul has published a comprehensive lifestyle guide titled "Slgirowoon Seongbuk 1in Saenghwal" — a practical living guide for single-person households in the district — to help solo residents live more safely and healthily, district Mayor Lee Seung-ro announced.
The guide was designed to address the rapidly growing single-person household population and ensure residents do not miss out on welfare benefits or useful local services simply because they were unaware of them.
The guide is organized into four core areas — health and care, lifestyle safety, residential stability and social networks — and covers 57 tailored support projects currently run by Seongbuk-gu for single-person households.
The guide goes beyond a simple policy overview, packing in a wide range of practical, everyday information useful for living in the district, along with contact details for relevant organizations — significantly boosting its value as a real-world reference.
To minimize gaps in welfare coverage and improve accessibility, the district is making the guide available online at all times. Residents can view and download it through the "Single-Person Households, Gather Here" bulletin board on the Seongbuk-gu district office website.
"I hope this guide will be a genuine help to single-person household residents in Seongbuk-gu — enabling them to live safer, wiser daily lives without becoming isolated from the community," district Mayor Lee said. "We will continue to develop finely tailored welfare services that single-person households can truly feel in their everyday lives."
