KT Corp opens recruitment for 10th AbleSchool AI and DX cohort

KT Corp is accepting applications for the 10th cohort of KT AbleSchool, its program for training young professionals in AI and cloud technology, through Aug. 10.

KT Corp announced Tuesday that it has opened recruitment for the digital talent education program, which it operates in partnership with the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Applicants must be unemployed, aged 34 or under, and have completed at least six semesters of a four-year university program. The 10th cohort will begin classes in late September and complete 840 hours of coursework — covering theory, hands-on practice and project work — over six months.

The curriculum is divided into two tracks: AI Developer and DX Consultant. The AI Developer track trains participants to plan and build services for businesses using AI and cloud technology. The DX Consultant track focuses on developing professionals who can formulate digital transformation strategies and solve problems in real-world business settings.

Participants will identify challenges drawn from actual corporate environments and carry out the full cycle of work — from service planning through development and implementation. The program emphasizes project-based learning over conventional classroom instruction to help students build practical experience.

Working professionals from KT Corp will take part in project coaching and mentoring sessions, supporting participants as they learn the workflows and problem-solving approaches used in real companies.

All training is delivered through Able Edu, an online practice platform, allowing participants to take part in hands-on exercises and collaborative projects from anywhere in the country under the same conditions.

Graduates receive job counseling and access to employment placement programs. Since its launch in 2021, AbleSchool has produced about 3,500 graduates, who have gone on to work at more than 500 companies in fields ranging from AI development and data analysis to sales, marketing and business planning.

AbleSchool students have won the grand prize at the Ministry of Employment and Labor's K-Digital Training Hackathon four consecutive times, from the second through the fifth editions of the competition.

"Drawing on the educational expertise KT AbleSchool has built up, we will actively support young people in growing into competitive AX professionals ready for the field."

Meanwhile, KT Corp has been expanding its efforts to help young people gain work experience and enter the workforce. The company recently launched KT K-New Deal Academy, a hands-on training program through which it shares the ICT and AI transformation expertise and field experience it has accumulated as a national telecommunications carrier and AI-focused company, and has begun recruiting its first cohort.
