Chzzk, Naver's live streaming platform, recorded its highest-ever monthly active user count in June, driven by its coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North and Central America.
The platform drew 5.24 million monthly active users (MAU) in June, up from 2.76 million the previous month — a gain of 2.48 million — according to data released Tuesday. The surge is attributed to Chzzk's broadcast of the tournament, which kicked off June 12.
Users in their 40s accounted for the largest increase by age group, adding 780,000 after World Cup coverage began. Those in their 30s followed with 480,000, while viewers under 20 and those in their 50s each added 250,000. Users aged 60 and older grew by 90,000.
Other apps broadcasting the World Cup also saw gains. KBS+ reached 500,000 users last month, up 180,000 from the previous month, while JTBC NOW added 170,000 users to reach 230,000.
The figures come from a survey of Korean Android and iOS smartphone users conducted by WiseApp·Retail.
