Promotions aimed at expanding core industry expertise to support sustainable client growth
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Korea has carried out a round of promotions to strengthen its industry expertise in high-growth sectors.
BCG Korea announced Tuesday that it promoted Kang Ji-hoon and Jang Gwon-young from MD partner to managing director and partner, and elevated Kim Young-hoon from partner to MD partner. The appointments bring BCG Korea's leadership to 30 people in total, comprising nine managing directors and partners and 21 MD partners.
"These promotions were made to further deepen our expertise in the industries and functional areas that will define the future," BCG Korea said in a statement. "BCG Korea will further solidify its capabilities in manufacturing operations and financial growth — two areas critical to corporate competitiveness — and will continue to help Korean companies uncover new growth opportunities in a rapidly changing market environment."
Kang, the newly appointed managing director and partner, is an operations specialist in manufacturing and industrial goods. He has led projects focused on manufacturing innovation, supply chain optimization and procurement transformation to strengthen companies' operational competitiveness. He has supported productivity improvements and profitability gains across key industries including battery, semiconductor, automotive, energy and shipbuilding, and continues to drive the competitiveness of Korean manufacturers through data and AI.
Jang, the other newly appointed managing director and partner, has focused on strategy and transformation in the insurance and financial industries, leading projects to enhance corporate value through mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, business model innovation, and financial and risk management. More recently, he has been spearheading large-scale transformation initiatives centered on cross-border M&A, digital innovation and new business development, helping financial firms chart new growth strategies and identify future business opportunities.
Kim Young-hoon, the newly appointed MD partner, has led operational innovation and performance improvement projects across a range of industries including food, fashion and mobility, driving profitability-focused transformation. Through procurement reform, capital expenditure optimization and process improvement, he works to raise productivity and operational efficiency on the manufacturing floor and help companies generate tangible results.
Hwang Hyung-jun, managing director and senior partner of BCG Korea, said advances in AI are pushing companies to continuously create change and innovation beyond their established formulas for success. "BCG Korea will continue working alongside our clients to chart the direction of change and translate it into real results and sustainable value," he said.
BCG Korea entered the Korean market in 1994 and has since provided consulting services to major domestic companies, multinational corporations, and government and public institutions through its Seoul office. Drawing on more than 60 years of industry and functional expertise from around the world, approximately 400 professionals in Korea continue to deliver business results for clients.
