Volkswagen Korea is launching an experiential program that combines tennis with extended vehicle test drives, inviting customers aged 25 to 45 who enjoy the sport to drive Volkswagen models and document their daily lives and sporting activities as content.
The company announced Tuesday it is accepting applications for the "2026 Volkswagen Tennis Crew."
The roughly three-month program is an influencer-style initiative in which selected participants drive key Volkswagen models and produce content for their personal social media channels. Participants will experience the vehicles across a range of everyday situations — commuting to tennis courts, attending club activities, running daily errands and traveling.
The Tennis Crew launch comes as Volkswagen Korea has also been accelerating its electric vehicle lineup expansion, having recently begun customer deliveries of the 2026 ID.5, a coupe-style all-electric SUV. The tennis program is a separate marketing effort aimed at broadening customer touchpoints by connecting the brand with sports and lifestyle interests.
Selected crew members will drive Volkswagen's main lineup in sequence, including the ID.4, ID.5, Atlas and Golf. Volkswagen Korea said it designed the program after recognizing that tennis — easily accessible in urban settings — has become a sport that reflects the hobbies and lifestyles of younger generations.
The program will accept up to six teams of two, for a total of 12 participants. Applicants must be between 25 and 45 years old and consistently play tennis. They must hold a valid driver's license with driving experience, operate a public social media channel and be able to produce content. Participants are also required to take part in weekday activities and upload content throughout the approximately three-month vehicle loan period.
A launch event scheduled for August will include a program orientation and a tennis class. Crew activity guidelines, model-by-model test-drive schedules and content direction will also be shared at the event.
Tennis lessons will be provided by coaches Kim Hyun-su and Kim Ki-tae, who serve as Universe Tennis coaches and Team Wilson coaches. Participants will have the opportunity to review their game and improve their skills through the coaching sessions.
All participants will receive a Wilson Korea welcome package containing a Pure Dry Ace T-shirt, a Swinglight camp cap, a Pureline wristband and Wilson Crew socks.
"Following our previous Running Crew, we want to continue delivering lifestyle brand experiences that bring us closer to our customers' everyday lives and personal tastes through this Tennis Crew," said Shin Dong-hyup, executive director of marketing communications at Volkswagen Korea. "We aim to convey Volkswagen's dynamic and stylish appeal in a friendly way alongside tennis-loving influencers, and we will keep expanding our customer touchpoints through a variety of lifestyle programs going forward."
