Min Byeong-deok, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea's Euljiro Committee, spoke Tuesday afternoon at a press conference at the National Assembly's press room in Yeouido, Seoul, condemning MBK Partners and Meritz for pushing Homeplus toward liquidation.
The Euljiro Committee urged MBK and Meritz to immediately provide debtor-in-possession financing to support Homeplus's rehabilitation, called for tighter oversight of MBK as a national pension fund manager, and demanded a National Assembly hearing to establish accountability.
